Al Mafraq and Empire Solar Plant
In a contract valued at over $35 million, OHLA provided services for the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of the Al-Mafraq and Empire photovoltaic plants in Jordan. The project has a peak power to the NEPCO (National Electric Power Company) grid of 133.4 MWp (66.7 MWp corresponding to each plant).
The generation of 275 GWh/year makes it possible to supply electricity to nearly 93,000 homes while avoiding CO2 emissions of approximately 196,000 Tm/year.
The plant, which has been in operation since 2017, features an Axis Tracker system, ABB 2.5 MVA – 1500 V inverters, and a JA Solar 325 Wp 410,000 photovoltaic modules.
TRANSFORMER POWER: 16 x 4 KVA
TOTAL SURFACE AREA: 140 Ha
OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE: 2 years of operation by OHLA
