University of Miami Clinical Research Building
The clinical research Building is a 15-story, 396,000 SF high-rise complex located at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. The original design was office space for clinical research programs. However, some of the floors were redesigned for patient exams and treatment. The complex comprises three components: 336,000 SF of clinical, research, and dry-lab spaces, a parking garage for 1,450 vehicles, and a 60,000 SFwellness center located above the garage structure. Interior spaces included in the build-out were classrooms, auditoriums, a conference center, dry labs, and other clinical spaces. A floating grand staircase and two-story atrium accentuate the main lobby. The finishes selected promote the overall design to highlight wellness and healing. The project also included complete low voltage systems including phone, data, BMS, and state-of-the-art audio-visual components. This project achieved LEED™certification.
