Fairway Drive Grade Separation
Our subsidiary, OHLA USA, Inc., is performing a $148 million contract to construct a grade separation to reduce traffic delays and improve safety conditions. This will completely separate train and vehicular traffic, eliminating crossing collisions, congestion, and emergency vehicle delays. The project will also significantly reduce noise and emissions from idling vehicles stopped for trains.
The contract will lower Fairway Drive under the two existing Union Pacific Railroad and Metrolink tracks in the City of Industry and an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, immediately north of the 60 Freeway. The scope of work involves the construction of a new four-lane roadway underpass and a four-track railroad bridge, concrete retaining walls, a 35-foot-deep wastewater/storm drain pump station. Other activities include extensive underground wet and dry utility work, roadway improvements, demolition, and grading. The project is executed in stages to allow uninterrupted freight and passenger train service.
