St. Lucie Medical Center
The project scope of St.Lucie Medical Center included major interior renovations, a 75,000 SF expansion, infrastructure upgrades, site work, and facility reskin providing the hospital with significantly expanded services and a complete “face-lift.” The renovation scope of the project included a new recovery area, seven new operating rooms as well as the refurbishing of four existing operating rooms. The phasing of this project was planned to maintain a minimum of four functioning operating rooms at all times. The expansion was built to house the new ICU, as well as two new floors adding over 70 beds to the patient care unit. This phase of the project included the relocation of the facility’s helipad and the construction of additional parking areas. The facility reskin called for the installation of a new EIFS surface over the facility’s existing brick exterior. Steel frames were added to the facility’s existing structure in order to support aesthetic columns added to the façade. In total, the project added the following to the facility’s operations; over 70 patient beds, 15 ICU beds, seven new operating rooms, four renovated operating rooms, and 300 parking spaces.
