State Route 101 Road Improvement Project
OHLA USA, Inc., our subsidiary, was selected to perform this $20 million contract that called for concrete pavement replacement on a heavily trafficked stretch of SR-101, from Beaudry Avenue under the crossing to Pilgrimage Overcrossing in downtown Los Angeles. The project’s scope included replacing existing concrete pavement with precast-concrete panels, overlay of asphalt, replacing concrete curb at 62 locations, installing new freeway ramp meter signal loops, and placement of a new freeway ramp meter signal loops guardrail system. Exacting standards were used to ensure proper leveling to the appropriate elevation to match the required finish grade.
Major contract features included bridge approach slab replacement, precast-concrete, hot-mix asphalt, and textured paving, as well as curb, gutter, and sidewalk paving.
The contract was the recipient of a Silver Partnering Success in Motion Award from our client, Caltrans, for illustrating a positive and beneficial relationship with stakeholders, subcontractors, and sub-consultants.
