UHealth Lennar Foundation Medical Center
OHLA Building, Inc., an OHLA USA subsidiary, served as construction manager for the new 240,000-square-foot multi-story medical building that provides a variety of healthcare services, from primary to specialty care, for a broad spectrum of healthcare needs. The $78 million center offers expert multidisciplinary cancer care – including cancer clinical trials, medical oncology, radiation oncology, imaging, and support services. The facility also delivers the latest minimally invasive procedures in state-of-the-art surgical suites, leading to faster recovery, lower infection rates, and less post-procedure discomfort.
Architectural features of the center, such as floor-to-ceiling windows, art installations, and a fifth-story outdoor terrace overlooking Coral Gables, create a light-infused environment to promote patient healing.
The center physically connects to the Flipse building and parking garage with an enclosed, air-conditioned link to allow direct access for patients to the new center. In addition to the base building core and shell, the scope of work called for the construction of a conference center and clinical teaching unit, pharmacy, lab, imaging, interventional platform, a linear accelerator, mechanical room, and several support and specialty clinics as well as administrative spaces.
